All components are rigorously tested which includes testing of material, zippers, wheels, lugs and handles. Only when the tests approve the quality of the product, the bag is released for sale. The series of tests conducted by VIP Industries Limited include Tumble Test, Handle Test, Lock Test, Drop Test, and Wheel Test. These tests simulate expected wear and tear of the luggage items to ensure that the items can endure and not sustain any major damages during their expected lifetime.

A loaded bag is subjected to opening and closing for 3,000 cycles with part load in top portion for the reliability of:

A - Handle and lug fixing

B - Bags under deformation simulating actual usage conditions of handling of luggage

THE DROP TEST
5 TIMES

Dropping the bag 5 times on the ground at all corners and sides.

THE HANDLE TEST
3500 TIMES

Tested by giving jerks to the handle of the bag for 3500 times in a loaded condition.

THE LOCK TEST
PUSH & RELEASE CYCLES

We check the locks durability by operating the lock for 15000 cycles in one go continuously.

THE WHEEL TEST
10 KMS

A loaded bag is subjected to linear motion covering a distance of 10 Kms to test the reliability of:

A - Wheel and Wheel assembly.

B - Pulling handle assembly, simulating actual usage condition. The test is undertaken to test the wear and tear of wheels.

OPENING & CLOSING TEST FOR S/C
3,000 cycles

A loaded bag is subjected to opening and closing for 3,000 cycles with part load in top portion for the reliability of:

A - Divider flap and elastic strap.

B - Rear hinge area simulating actual usage conditions.

PENDULUM TEST
1000 TIMES

A loaded bag is subjected to swing 1000 times with corners impacting on fixed metal plates to test reliability of:

A - Handle and lug fixing, simulating actual conditions.

B - Corners simulating airport conveyor handling.

PRESSURE TEST
LUGGAGE OVERLOADING

The bag is subjected to pressure test to check the fitment of shell and frame, simulating overloading of luggage in actual use.

THE TUMBLE TEST
20 REVOLUTIONS & OBSTACLES

A loaded bag is subjected to 20 tumbles in a large rotating drum with protruding obstacles to test the reliability of:

A - Lock and latches simulating an accidental fall during actual travel. The test is undertaken to test the wear and tear of the luggage as a whole.

THE ZIPPER TEST
15000 TIMES, FORCE APPLIED TO SLIDERS & ZIPPERS

Force is applied to sliders and zippers to test the strength of zippers and pullers.
